USEFUL FIRST · AFFILIATE SECOND

Affiliate Disclosure

How Rovebound earns commission while keeping recommendations usefulness-led.

Effective September 12, 2026 · V2.8 Publish Candidate

Useful first. Affiliate second. Rovebound can earn money from certain provider links, but commission is not a route-ranking input and a partner should appear only when it solves a genuine travel need.

1. How affiliate links work

Some links to travel, experiences, gear, connectivity or mobility providers are affiliate links. If you follow a marked link and complete a qualifying purchase, booking or other action with that independent provider, Rovebound may receive a commission.

You do not pay Rovebound a fee for following an affiliate link. The provider controls its price, availability and terms. A referral does not promise a discount, the lowest market price or identical pricing through every channel.

2. How Rovebound chooses recommendations

Recommendations are intended to follow the trip need: route fit, logistics, timing, usefulness, durability, packability, value and the travel context. Commission does not determine the destination, Arc, route order or safety decision.

Rovebound can recommend non-affiliate options. If removing the commission would make a recommendation feel wrong, the recommendation should not be there.

3. Contextual partner actions

Partners can appear inside the Planner, Mission Control, Gear, Story Routes or other journey features when the current Arc creates a relevant need. Examples include a flight comparison for an access leg, connectivity for international travel, an experience at a place already chosen, or gear that solves a real carry requirement.

Affiliate actions should not create destinations or detours merely to generate commission.

4. Your transaction stays with the provider

You purchase or book on the provider's website under its terms and applicable law. The provider handles payment, inventory, fulfilment, changes, cancellations, refunds, warranties and customer support. Rovebound does not receive your customer payment or manage the booking.

5. Sponsored benefits and disclosures

If Rovebound receives a material benefit beyond ordinary affiliate commission—such as a paid placement, free product, hosted trip or other material consideration—it should be disclosed clearly in the relevant content. A business, destination, government or community is not described as endorsing Rovebound without authorization.
